Description
A hand-crafted end grain cutting board with a maple inlay rendering of a steer skull crowned with roses and flowering vines.
Build Details
- Dimensions: 11¼″ × 15¾″ × 1⅜″
- Construction: End grain — the cutting surface is the end of the wood fibers, the most durable orientation
- Woods: Walnut and mahogany checker base, maple inlay
- Finish: Food-safe oil and Langskegg Wood Butter
Why End Grain
End grain cutting boards are easier on knife edges and self-heal between cuts. The fibers stand vertical instead of running horizontally, so the blade slips between them rather than slicing across them. The result: a cleaner cut, a sharper knife at the end of the day, and a board that takes years of daily use without showing it.
Care
Hand wash with mild soap, towel dry, and stand on edge to fully dry. Re-oil with food-safe mineral oil or Langskegg Wood Butter every few months — more often when new — to keep the wood from drying out. Never put in the dishwasher.
Want Your Own
