Cutting Boards
Every cutting board here is end grain, hand-made one at a time in our shop in Nampa, Idaho. End grain means the cutting surface is the cut end of the wood fibers rather than the side. The blade slips down between the standing fibers instead of slicing across them, so the board is easier on your knife edge, it closes back up between cuts, and it takes years of daily use without showing it.
We build these from hardwoods that hold up in a working kitchen: maple, walnut, and mahogany, finished with food-safe oil and our own Langskegg Wood Butter. Some carry an inlay design, a butcher chart, a steer skull, a Liberty Bell. Others are personalized with a family name, initials, or a date.
Most of what we make is custom. If you want a different size, a different wood combination, or a design that is not shown here, start a custom project and we will build it for you. Typical turnaround is three to four weeks for an end grain board.
